Analysis of video

camera shots

The close up shots above show the artists facial expression and the expression of the other actress in the music video. This helps the audience to relate to them as the music video is sad. The close up shots also show the emotions of the characters to show the seriousness of the topic of the music video.

High angles - Show the dominance of the camera above the actors, relating to there represented persona's created in the music video. The two above shots relate to the music video well as the characters shown have no importance in the video, and the camera shot elaborates on that.

The low angle shot show the character as more dominant in this scene as this is when he commits suicide and this is where he is seen as having most control and dominance over his life.

The establishing shot familarises the audience with the location and helps them to understand the narrative.

Summary
-To summarise, I will be embedding most of the conventions of this music video into my own, to ensure that mine conforms to the generic conventions of an R 'n' B music video. I will include close up shots of the artist and a a lot of props/locations and costumes. This ensuring that my music video is successful. My research will be put into my planning as I will then know which locations to use, camera shots, props, costumes ect. This ensuring that I plan every aspect of my music video, on the basis of this music video as this is a conventional R 'n' B music video and by basing mine on this music video, I will be making a successful and conventional R 'n' B music video.

  1. Yasmin, this shows an excellent understanding of what RnB music videos are and you have also related to excellent examples throughout to show your understanding and knowledge. Now you need to include a summary at the end to show your understanding of how you will embed your research within your planning.

  2. Your summary shows a good understanding of how you will implement your research within the planning, however you need to be more explicit when you are relating to your music video.
